Terms of Service

Last updated: July 6, 2026

These Terms are an agreement between you and the individual operator of BikeDialed at bikedialed.com (the “Service”, “we”). BikeDialed is a free, non-commercial service. By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

BikeDialed is a bicycle component catalog and build configuration tool. You can browse components, assemble virtual bike builds, track estimated weights and prices, and optionally share builds publicly. Guest users can configure a build without an account; an account is required to save builds permanently or share them.

2. Accounts

  • You must provide a valid email address and keep your credentials confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account.
  • You may sign in with email/password or Google OAuth.
  • You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
  • You can delete your account at any time at Profile → Delete Account (/account/delete). Deletion is permanent and removes your builds, custom components, notes, and profile.

3. Your Content

  • You retain ownership of the content you create (builds, custom components, descriptions, notes).
  • Private builds are visible only to you.
  • Public and shared builds: by making a build public or sharing its link, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host and display that build (including your display name) as part of the Service, until you make it private again or delete it.
  • You are responsible for your content. Do not post content that is unlawful, infringing, deceptive, or abusive. We may remove content that violates these Terms.

4. Catalog Data, Weights, and Prices — No Warranty

  • Component data (weights, prices, specifications) is provided for informational purposes only. Weights may be manufacturer claims, community measurements, or estimates (missing weights are estimated from category averages and are marked accordingly).
  • BikeDialed does not verify mechanical compatibility of components. A build that can be configured in the Service is not guaranteed to be safe, compatible, or buildable in the real world.
  • Do not rely on the Service for safety-critical decisions. Always consult component manufacturers' documentation and a qualified mechanic before building or modifying a bicycle.

5. Trademarks

Bicycle brand and component names (e.g. Shimano, SRAM, Specialized, Trek) are trademarks of their respective owners. They are used in the catalog nominatively, solely to identify real-world products. BikeDialed is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of these manufacturers.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • probe, scan, or attack the Service, or access it by automated means at abusive rates;
  • attempt to access other users' accounts or non-public data;
  • upload malicious content, including via CSV import;
  • resell or bulk-scrape the catalog or other users' content;
  • impersonate others or misrepresent affiliation.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service's software, design, and original catalog curation are owned by BikeDialed or its licensors. These Terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes.

8. Availability and Changes

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. Export your builds to CSV if you need a local copy.

9. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of catalog data.
  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any damages arising from real-world use of build configurations created in the Service.
  • Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the past 12 months (currently zero — the Service is free) or EUR 50.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service or delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these Terms, with notice where practicable. Sections 3–5, 7, 9, and 11–12 survive termination.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Operator’s country of residence, excluding its conflict of law rules. Mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence remain unaffected.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms. For material changes we will notify registered users by email or an in-product notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance.
